Catherine
recognized early on the power of the Internet in relation
to the business she offered. She designed and put the
entire site together, learning a variety of Internet
technologies as she went along. She has studied the
Internet and its power for disseminating information
since that time.
Prior
to starting child care online, Catherine ran
a successful dayhome for eight years, and
co-owned and operated the City Wide Babysitting Service
in Calgary, Alberta, from 1986 to 1987
A
mother of two and now grandmother of three, she is the
owner of CanDan Publishing Co., under which she writes
and publishes the following books and resources:
In
1993 Catherine's book, Start
& Run a Home Daycare, was published by Self-Counsel
Press. The book has been so successful it is now in
its 4th edition complete with a CD of forms.
Also
in 1993, Catherine began editing and publishing the
bimonthly newsletter, Parent Care: Your Child Care
Newsline, subscribed to by parents, caregivers,
organizations and school across North America.
In
addition, she has had several articles published in
magazines and newspapers across the continent, including
regular feature articles for Child
Care & Schools, Source Magazine from Sam's
Club. Her books and newsletters have been mentioned
in such publications as Modern Woman, Today's Family,
Great Expectations, B.C. Family, and more.
Catherine's
extensive experience and research into the parenting/family/child
care, together with her writing, publishing and marketing
background, lend themselves well to the child care

Who Benefits From child care online |
|
|
Children
The children benefit most of all. When placed in a quality
child care setting, children grow in all areas of their
intellectual, social, physical and emotional development.
Nothing could be more rewarding!
Parents
And, of course, parents benefit a great deal too. Knowing
that their child is being well cared for reduces parental
stress. As a result, parents are more productive on
the job and are less likely to need time off to deal
with child care problems.
Caregivers
We know that child care is only as good as the quality
of caregivers and centres. child care online and
About Child Care Consumer Services offer independent
caregivers assistance in setting up their home for child
care through our many publications,
through the information contained in our Resource
Centre, Child Care Registry
pages, Caregiver's Forum,
and our Business Resources
and Career Centre.
Employers
and the Community
child care online offers resources for employers
all of which greatly enhance a parent employee's productivity,
dedication, absenteeism and tardiness rate. Our goal
is to help employers balance their work and family policies
and concerns.
